Even On my day off I usually spend my time Listening to Music.
I have had 'The Future Of Mass Hysteria' By 'The Real King(s) of Spain' In my collection for quite some time now and have listened to it several times, even though it does not appear to fall into any of the genres of Music I would normally take time to listen to. Co-fronted by the extremely cool Doc Satori & my good friend QJB 'The Real Kings' line up also includes other members I know well such as multi-instrumentalist Len Liechti so potentially this could have been my most difficult review to date. I was also concerned that after listening to this very well produced Album initially that they would not be able to do 'The Future Of Mass Hysteria' justice in a live performance setting. However after seeing the band perform live with an exceptional drummer I need not have worried. This as a great album that has clearly been well thought out and has the ability to captivate & intrigue even steadfast purest Music lovers such as myself.
Notable Tracks 'On The Wind', To Watch Over Me & 'Elysian Dreams'.

Mark Venus Music

“The Real King(s) of Spain, are an experimental art rock duo who incorporate electronic, instrumental, spoken word, sample, internet-download and political elements into their sound. They fuse melody and rhythm with an occasionally more discordant score to reflect the nature of the lyrics, which deal with subjects from class antagonism to Dionysian excess and many others in between. Bowie is an influence for sure, and there’s a nod to Eno in the music as well as the more experimental end of post punk …some Second Hand Daylight era Magazine, bits of The Pop Group... and the tunes ain’t half bad”
